The Global Green Burial Alliance is a network of eco-friendly funeral professionals. The GGBA is a free membership pledge organization. The GGBA’s mission is to promote and provide critical information and education concerning any and all eco-friendly funeral options globally.
Embracing knowledge equals change. A global conversation is needed so ideas and customs can be shared. These ideas, cultural rites, and practices allow for critical growth. By joining, you can help bring better deathcare to the world as a community.
Members can enjoy networking and social media platforms to engage in free discussions between consumers, communities, and funeral professionals. The truth of processes and products, transparency, and respectful engagement and communication are key to enacting positive changes.
The GGBA is building a network of experiences and education free to all who challenge themselves to be a part of this change.

Sarah McNamee is a Licensed Kentucky Funeral Director and Embalmer with a commitment to providing unwavering support to families during their most challenging moments. Beginning her career in 2016, Sarah initially specialized in embalming and restoration work, refining her skills and understanding of the funeral industry. Transitioning into funeral directing in 2019 during her time in Oahu, Hawaii, she gained invaluable experience in navigating diverse cultural and religious practices, further enhancing her ability to empathize and connect with families from all backgrounds.
Passionate about green funeral practices, she is continually learning and incorporating eco-friendly methods to offer families sustainable options. She finds immense fulfillment in guiding families through every step of the funeral process, from initial arrangements to the final burial or cremation, and cherishes the opportunity to learn about the lives of those entrusted to their care. With a passion for continuous learning and a personal touch rooted in family values, Sarah is a compassionate presence dedicated to easing the burden of grief for those in need.
Outside of work, Sarah finds solace and joy in spending time with her husband, Danny, and their young son. Family is paramount to Sarah, and she cherishes moments by the bonfire with her loved ones, knowing their constant support fuels her passion for serving others.
Susan Flynn - The Gentle Journey:
Susan Flynn is a speech pathologist by trade and has worked in death and dying and advanced care planning as a passion. Susan is the founder and owner of The Gentle Journey, working as an end-of-life doula and providing home funeral/companion journey services. Susan's main focus is advancing knowledge in Kentucky on green funerals, green spaces and the solemnity of the final journey that includes personal connections within the circle of life.

Brian Hall - Windy Knoll Memorial Sanctuary:
Brian Hall is the President of Windy Knoll Memorial Sanctuary, Kentucky's very first public green burial preserve. Located in Anderson County, Windy Knoll Memorial Sanctuary offers eco-friendly funeral services in the central Kentucky region.

Michael and Stacy Watson - The Wooden Casket:
Michael and Stacy Watson are the owners of The Wooden Casket, a Kentucky proud business located in Tompkinsville, Kentucky. Michael and his wife Stacy were inspired to create their own casket business after Michael's father created caskets for himself and his wife. Specializing in wooden, personalized caskets, the two started their business with the intention of creating products that were not only unique and special, but economical. From inexpensive pine boxes to elaborate maple/walnut caskets with gold-colored trim, Michael and Stacy offer a wide range of eco-friendly caskets and urns, which are all made in-house at their store in Tompkinsville, Kentucky.

Susan Classen - Nature Preserve Cemetery:
Susan is a Co-member of the Loretto Community, a congregation of the Sisters of Loretto and Loretto Co-members. She is Loretto's ecosystem manager and the director of Cedars of Peace, a retreat center on the grounds of the Loretto Motherhouse in Nerinx, Kentucky. In 2018, Susan helped Loretto establish Nature Preserve Cemetery, an on-site conservation burial cemetery for Loretto community members. Nature Preserve Cemetery is also the first exclusively green cemetery ever created in Kentucky!

The purpose of the platform is to educate and advocate; each week covers a different topic, featuring special guests from around the world. In this week's episode, special guests Steve Berkoff and Laura Boehm introduce Pet Reefs, their undersea memorial gardens for pets.
Each month, the Global Green Burial Alliance hosts a free forum with a special panel of eco-friendly funeral experts. Subjects range from funeral practices around the world to the latest eco-friendly funeral technologies. The purpose of this space is to create open conversations between providers and consumers. Everyone is welcome and invited; forums occur every first or second Thursday of each month.
